Delta Kappa Gamma Society Scholarship - Beta Eta Chapter

The local chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, Beta Eta, is comprised of women educators – working and retired – from the Clarenceville and Farmington Public Schools. This scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to students who struggle to enter or return to education due to circumstances as domestic violence, divorce, economic hardship, lack of spousal support, single parenthood, and difficult life-changing transitions. Students who are reentering the workforce after a period of no employment or under-employment due to family circumstances such as caring for children or aging parents.

Criteria
To be eligible for this award, applicants:

  • MUST have struggled to enter or return to education due to circumstances such as domestic violence, divorce, economic hardship, lack of spousal support, single parenthood, and difficult life-changing transitions.
    Students who are reentering the workforce after a period of no employment or under-employment due to family circumstances such as caring for children or aging parents.
  • MUST must be a U.S. citizen.
  • MUST have completed a minimum of 8 credits at Oakland Community College
  • MUST be currently enrolled at OCC for at least 3 credits
  • MUST have a declared program of study
  • MUST have a cumulative GPA 2.5 or higher
  • MUST designate Oakland Community College, Orchard Ridge as their home campus.
  • MUST demonstrate financial need (as determined by the OCC Office of Financial Assistance and Scholarships).
  • MUST be used for tuition, books or other educational expenses.
  • MUST write a thank-you letter to the donor.
  • MUST NOT be an OCC employee or family member receiving tuition reimbursement
  • MUST NOT be a College guest student, high school guest student or high school dual enrolled student
