Law Enforcement Education Program (LEEP)

The Law Enforcement Education Program (LEEP) Award is sponsored by the Police Officers Labor Council (POLC) to provide annual financial assistance to pre-service Oakland Police Academy students upon completion of the police academy program.

To be eligible for this award, applicants:

  • MUST be a pre-service student accepted to the Oakland Police Academy.
  • MUST have completed the Oakland Police Academy, passed the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) certification test; and met the MCOLES
    employment standards to become certifiable as a law enforcement officer in Michigan.
  • MUST write a thank-you letter to the donor.
  • MUST NOT be an OCC employee or family member receiving tuition reimbursement
  • MUST NOT be a College guest student, high school guest student or high school dual enrolled student

All eligible students will be notified by Police Academy staff of the award and the application process.
In-service/department-sponsored students are not eligible to apply.
The LEEP award is based upon highest overall achievement of non-sponsored applicants.
