Dave Hamilton Construction Management Endowed Scholarship

The Dave Hamilton Endowed scholarship was named in honor of Dave Hamilton, retired President of Auch Construction. Mr. Hamilton established the scholarship to encourage students to pursue a degree in Construction Management.

To be eligible for this award, applicants:

  • MUST have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours of instruction at Oakland Community College. Transfer credit hours are counted toward the maximum eligibility.
  • MUST have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • MUST be a U.S. Citizen
  • MUST be enrolled in Construction Management (CMS.AAS) program or Math courses required for Construction Management degree (MAT1560 through MAT1740)
  • MUST demonstrate qualities of leadership (Requires written documentation of demonstrated skills; either an essay, résumé, or letter(s) of recommendation)
  • MUST demonstrate financial need (determined by OCC Office of Financial Assistance and Scholarships)
  • MUST be used for tuition only
  • MUST write a thank-you letter to the donor.
  • MUST NOT be an OCC employee or family member receiving tuition reimbursement
  • MUST NOT be a College guest student, high school guest student or high school dual enrolled student

Preference will be given to students in the Construction Management program (CMN.AAS).

Renewal criteria: This scholarship can be renewed if the recipient still meets the criteria. Renewal is subject to funding availability.

  1. I have uploaded a letter of recommendation, attesting to my outstanding character from a non-relative. Preferably a school counselor, teacher and or mentor.
